New Belgium’s annual Tour de Fat is back for 2019, offering a day packed full of FREE festivities celebrating beer, bikes, and bemusement. Entering its 20th season, the Tour de Fat has raised nearly $6 million dollars for local bike non-profits since it all began. Join us for a three-city tour of bike parades, touring ensembles of comedians, cirque performers, general mayhemists, top-notch live musicians and, of course, world-class New Belgium beer. It‘s a celebration of great beer, good people, and humankind‘s most wonderful invention – the bicycle! So, come celebrate self-propelled, two-wheel travel and dress up as your alter ego while raising money for your hometown cycling community.

What is the general principle for selecting a lane?

Where should you ride in a narrow left turn only lane?

Where do most bicycle-motor vehicle crashes occur?

You want the skills and confidence to bike safely. The League of American Bicyclists‘ Smart Cycling program gives you the knowledge and resources you need to get out and ride!

Knowing how to ride safely also means knowing the laws, rules of the road, and principles of traffic law. It also means ensuring your bicycle is in good working order, how to share trails and sidewalks, and what to do in the event of a crash.

This curriculum offers in-depth details for new and experienced riders on how to ride more safely, confidently, and more often in various terrains and climates. This class is geared more towards the experienced rider and consists of a 3-hour classroom training session as well as a 2-hour outdoor session, to practice your newly learned skills.
