Saturday Cycling Ride Report for 10/31/2020

Hello Saturday Cyclists,

We had several people ride in costume on Halloween day; one or two scarry and a few silly ones.  More than a few of the 29 participants were also wearing jackets at the start.  I say that as Phoenix breaks another record with 95+ degrees on a mid-autumn day.  But my phone says this Saturday will be cool again; it even threw in a slight chance of rain the last time I looked.

In case the fast pack was wondering where the standard-route team disappeared to, we stopped at US Egg for breakfast instead of the designated Panera site.  It has shaded patio seating too and is a favorite of some of our regulars.

Tid Bits…

Just because the club is semi-dormant doesn’t mean we can’t still innovate. Merchandise Master Bob has arranged for all our club logo products to be purchased on-line directly from our new supplier, Giordana.  The first window of opportunity will be from Sunday Nov 8 through the 22nd.  All the purchases will then be bulk shipped to Bob; you’ll still need to arrange a meet-up with him to receive your items.  The start of the Saturday Cycling rides might be a convenient time.  This arrangement will be especially beneficial to the club’s cash flow now that we don’t have to stock inventory which has, at times, represented a significant percentage of our modest treasury.   An email blast with the web link will be going out to all members soon and I’ll pass it along to non-members in next week’s report.

Have fun, ride safely, and stay healthy!

Ken
