The Ladies Group - All Locations

The Ladies Group features NO DROP rides. There is no minimum speed, there are no "cool points" required, you just need to be a lady with a will and/or desire to ride.

There are road, gravel, and mountain bike rides. The Ladies meet on different days of the week and all over the valley for rides and will host riding clinics if enough interest.

Group Guidelines:

  • Once you have signed up for an event, if you cannot make it, you are responsible to update your RSVP to "No". This is a courtesy to the ride leader and other members. If the event has already started or you are unable to notify immediately, please reach out to the ride leader. Failure to do so will result in a "No Show.” Three no shows within one year will result in removal from the group.
  • Please no drop-ins. If you are planning to attend an event, you must sign up. Ride leaders need to know who to expect.
  • The Ladies Rides is a “No Judgement Zone.” We are here to encourage women to ride and to give each other a safe and encouraging space to learn, challenge, and grow.
  • Note we do allow well-behaved males and ride descriptions will indicate whether it’s okay to invite men. Our dedicated SAG rider is a guy.
  • The group asks that you join the club. Joining PMBC online is easy and secure. Basic membership is only $25 per year. That fee helps support rides, covers you by our insurance when you ride chapter rides, and provides discounts to special event rides by the club. There are many other benefits, covered here.
  • The Ladies will host weekend rides from October through May. The number or type of rides may vary depending on availability of ride leaders. There may be some summer rides. However, due to the heat, they will be at night or very early in the morning and are for more advanced riders since they are not SAG supported.

History:

LaVerne Lindsey founded The Ladies Group in 2007, empowering ladies of all riding abilities to ride bicycles. In December 2017, The Ladies became an active chapter of the Arizona Bicycle Club (ABC). In 2019 upon dissolution of ABC, the Ladies joined Phoenix Metro Bicycle Club.
